DESCRIPTION: EPW - Edward Prior, London, triple-cased verge fusee for Turkish market, 53mm, gilt OF original cases, outermost covered in tortoise shell piqué, innermost with incuse "J B W W" marking above a heart shape for casemaker Josiah Barnett and William Waters, white enamel dial with Turkish numerals, KWKS, verge escapement, gilt mvt with pierced and engraved foliate scrolled balance cock, s#62260.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, good gilt tone, plate with some small scratches around pillar locations; excellent dial with some scattered pinpoint surface nicks, few small edge abrasions to lower portion; excellent hands; outermost case shows very light wear, some losses to rear tortoise shell at right perimeter and upper perimeter, bezel with some fractures to tortoise shell and few small areas of loss, numerous piqué elements lost to bezel and rear, button latch good, case closing with gap around its upper portion; central case shows very light wear, dent at lower-left perimeter of rear, area of gilt loss to center rear, button latch good; inner case shows light wear, some nicks and dings, body of case with some small areas of gilt loss, pendant with some greater areas of gilt loss; bow pivots freely; domed glass crystal is deeply scored at center of interior.
